Checking a repair done by a neighbour
Checking a repair done by a neighbour costs ten minutes now, or a fortnight later.
Work done as a favour has no invoice, and that is the only thing wrong with it. Everything else about it is fine.
A note written the same week, saying what was done and with what, is worth as much as a receipt and takes five minutes.

Worth doing
- Photograph the work before it is closed up.
- Write down the date, the materials and what was changed.
- Keep the receipts for the materials, whoever paid for them.
