Make a claim
A claim can be reported as soon as you notice the damage. Reporting early keeps the evidence fresh and the file short.
Where a claim is reported
Report a claim in Mijn Noorderdijk
A claim is reported in the customer portal, not by email. The portal asks for what is needed one step at a time, in the order a claims handler reads it, and it keeps the report open until you have everything.
Sign in with the email address on the policy. Everything you send afterwards, and every letter Noorderdijk writes back, sits with the claim in the same place.
What to have ready
- Your policy reference, from the first page of your policy schedule.
- The date the damage happened, and the address it happened at.
- What happened, in a few plain sentences.
- Photographs of the damage, taken before any repair.
- Invoices, receipts or a repair quotation, if you already have them.
Having these to hand before you start means the report can be finished in one sitting rather than left open.
How a claim runs
- 01
Report
The portal takes the address, the date and what happened. A claim reference reaches you by email once the report is registered.
- 02
Assessment
A claims handler reads the report. Where the damage needs to be seen, an expert is appointed and visits.
- 03
Decision
The outcome reaches you in writing, with the date of the decision and the reason for it.
Your claim reference
The confirmation email carries a claim reference: two letters, the year, and five digits. Keep it. It is on every later letter about the claim, and quoting it puts a message straight into the right file.
Damage that cannot wait
Where damage is getting worse, limit it first and report it after. Emergency repairs to stop a leak or to make a door close are part of the claim. Keep the invoice, and add it to the report in the portal.
If you cannot reach the portal at all, write to the claims mailbox and Noorderdijk opens the report for you.
